PvP & the Abyss

Arena and Spacetime Rift

Prepare for Arena matches and faction-based Rift play without mixing their rules.

Regional mode reference and editorial preparation. Match sizes, access windows and rewards are intentionally left to the current mode panel where no verified rule is supplied here.

Keep the two modes separate

Arena and Rift were separate categories in NC’s initial competitive lineup. The March 2026 update retained race-based Spacetime Rift matchmaking even as Chaotic Abyss switched to server-based West/East forces.

The Chapter 1 showcase introduced Spacetime Rift: Domination as an attack-and-defense mission format. Use the active mission panel to learn your responsibility before following another group.

Arena preparation

Read the match format and victory condition before committing to a loadout. Do not assume that Battlefield stat normalization applies to Arena.

Pick one matchup skill to practice: watching an opponent’s approach, protecting your recovery window or avoiding an unnecessary chase. Learn how your own actions behave under pressure before trying to reproduce a highlight clip.

  • Check which skills and equipment rules apply inside the mode.
  • Keep the opponent and available space visible.
  • Use defensive actions for a clear reason rather than all at once.
  • After the match, review the first exchange that put you at a disadvantage.

Rift preparation

Confirm your faction group, destination and objective before entering. Agree on a rally location and the signal to disengage. Scattered players are harder to support and cannot easily coordinate a mission.

Follow the current assignment rather than treating every opponent as a mandatory target. If the mode assigns attack or defense, communicate which objective needs help before moving the entire group.

A useful post-match note

Record the mode, service, patch or date, and one interaction you want to understand. Include the skill names and visible outcome if possible. This makes a question useful to teammates without turning one loss into a claim that a class is universally weak.
