PvP & the Abyss

PvP and faction conflict

Choose between Arena, Battlefield, Rift and Abyss, then prepare for the mode’s actual objective.

The mode lineup comes from official reveals and regional updates. The comparison is a planning aid; it does not establish global access, normalization or rewards for every mode.

Pick the type of fight

NC’s August 2025 reveal identifies Arena, Battlefield, Rift and Abyss as distinct competitive modes. Start by choosing the mode you want to learn instead of copying a single “PvP build” into every activity.

ModeFirst thing to readPractice priority
ArenaMatch format, victory condition and loadout rules.Control, positioning and reading an opponent.
BattlefieldThe active objective and team assignment.Helping the team score and protecting objectives.
RiftAccess, team assignment and mission rules.Moving with allies and choosing useful engagements.
AbyssZone variant, objectives and force assignment.Rallying, coordinated movement and retreat discipline.

Equalized does not mean every mode is equalized

The Korean Battlefield guide describes normalized stats. Chapter 1’s Battlefield: Siege starts teams under identical conditions, while Chaotic Upper Reshanta uses caps. A cap and normalization are different rules.

Inspect your character and skill panel inside the selected mode before assuming an equipment upgrade changes the fight. Use that mode’s rules when comparing setups.

PvE success is not a PvP damage test

The March 2026 regional update separated PvP and PvE damage calculations. A dungeon result alone cannot establish a regional PvP ranking.

Practice staying effective while the target moves, changing target when necessary, and saving a defensive response for pressure. Judge progress by useful decisions and objective contribution as well as eliminations.

Choose one improvement per session

For a first session, focus on survival and remaining with allies. Next, practice target calls or objective support. After that, review a particular matchup or skill interaction from your current patch.

  • Before queueing: confirm the active mode and available play time.
  • During play: keep the objective, allies and escape route in view.
  • After a loss: identify the earliest decision you could change.
  • Before spending resources: establish whether that mode actually uses the stat you plan to improve.
