Nightmare and Transcendence

Separate solo Nightmare progression from group Transcendence and plan the next useful challenge.

Regional update history, checked October 2, 2026. Dated additions identify the mode; the current regional entry panel controls access and rewards.

Two modes with different responsibilities

Nightmare belongs to the solo lineup. Transcendence is group content: your movement and survival also affect teammates. Choose a guide with the correct mode in its title. Global players can use the separate global Transcendence page for launch-era destinations and ranking navigation.

ModeYour preparationUseful progress measure
NightmareA self-sufficient skill setup and readable boss cues.Reach the next stage with fewer repeated mistakes.
TranscendenceA coordinated party and a shared encounter plan.Complete the selected challenge reliably as a group.

Nightmare progression

Season 3 added seven Nightmare bosses and an instant-clear ticket feature. Chapter 1 later introduced Nightmare Layer IV and combined earlier-stage rewards when clearing a qualifying stage.

Practice the earliest recurring failure before spending attempts on a harder stage. When a replay or instant-clear option is available, compare its displayed cost and eligibility with the reward you still need.

Transcendence progression

The December 2025 regional update eased early boss stages and added Unstable Stigma Shard (Bound) rewards. Chapter 1 expanded Transcendence parties to five and replaced entrance tickets with Odyle Energy reward claims.

Abyssal Horn Den was announced with a baseline requirement of level 50 and item level 3,500; harder versions required more. Treat those as dated regional entry facts, then read the selected difficulty in your current client.

Select the next useful run

Start with the reward or skill you need to improve, then choose the lowest difficulty that serves that goal. A failed higher challenge can be useful practice, but schedule it separately from a session where the party expects reliable rewards.

  • Check whether everyone meets the selected stage’s entry requirements.
  • Confirm that the party has time for explanations and retries.
  • Review the first avoidable failure after each attempt.
  • Inspect reward eligibility before leaving a completed run.
