Plan and evaluate your build

Turn a class guide into a usable setup: define the role, verify the version, test changes and spend with a purpose.

Editorial planning method. This is not a numerical best-in-slot list, a class tier ranking or a tested rotation.

Start with the content and your job

Name the activity and your assignment before selecting skills or equipment. A setup for solo learning can have different needs from an agreed party healing role or a particular PvP mode.

Write one sentence that defines success: survive a dangerous phase, keep the assigned allies supported, handle a target reliably or meet a displayed entry requirement. This turns a vague wish for a stronger build into a decision you can test.

Check whether another guide applies

Before copying a recommendation, check each of these details.

CheckWhy it matters
Region and patchSkill behavior and progression systems change over time
Exact activity and difficultyDifferent encounters create different demands
Class and unlocked toolsYou may not have the same skills or Stigma slots
Equipment and growth investmentThe example may depend on benefits you do not have
Party assignmentA support build and a damage build solve different problems
Evidence and methodA single showcase hit is not a repeatable full-encounter comparison

Make a first workable setup

Use the current descriptions to choose a small set of tools you understand.

  • Identify your main contribution and the actions that deliver it.
  • Keep an appropriate response to danger that you can reach while moving.
  • Add any tool required for the party assignment or encounter plan.
  • Check target, range, timing, cost and restrictions for every unfamiliar skill.
  • Practice the setup before spending heavily to enhance it.

Test one meaningful change

Use the same activity and as similar a situation as possible. Change one skill choice or equipment decision, then compare the whole attempt: survival, time unable to contribute, resource pressure and whether the group completed the objective.

If the outcome changes because the party composition or encounter conditions changed, do not attribute everything to the build. Repeat only when the comparison can answer a useful question.

Spend after identifying the bottleneck

If you cannot meet an entry requirement, prioritize an improvement that addresses it. If you meet the requirement but repeatedly fail a mechanic, practice the response before treating the problem as a material shortage.

Before spending, inspect the item or skill’s current cost, binding, success information and replacement or transfer rules. Preserve a note of the setup you are changing so you can compare the result.

Keep a short build record

A useful personal record can fit in a few lines.

  • Service and date or patch.
  • Activity, difficulty and party assignment.
  • Selected skills, available Stigma slots and relevant equipment.
  • Problem being tested and the one change made.
  • Observed result and the next decision.

Recheck after updates

Regional announcements have changed Stigma options and progression caps, and have balanced PvE and PvP separately. Keep your setup tied to the version you play.

After a relevant update, read the affected skill and system descriptions again. Retest the part of the setup that changed instead of assuming every older recommendation remains valid.
