Replacement and improvement solve different problems

A replacement changes the base item; an improvement spends resources on the item you already have. Start by identifying the exact problem: an entry requirement, a weak slot, an unsuitable effect or an unfinished upgrade. This prevents spending across several systems without finishing a useful improvement.

Compare the complete item tooltip and the preview after the proposed upgrade. A larger item-level number alone does not explain how a change affects your role. Keep the comparison within the same class, content type and regional version.

Soul Fuse: additional development after reinforcement

The February 11, 2026 regional announcement introduces Soul Fuse for equipment already at maximum reinforcement. It specifies equipment with 100% Soul Binding and two Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation items to apply additional Soul Binding effects.

This is an advanced regional enhancement step, not a starting upgrade for every new drop. Check eligibility on the actual item before obtaining the materials; the announcement does not establish current success probabilities or global launch availability.

Transfer Crafting and wings

The April regional Season 3 announcement added Transfer Crafting. In May, NC introduced Genesis/Nemesis Dragon Lord weapons and guards obtainable exclusively through that system, with six base Soul Inscription options. The same update added Philosopher’s Stone: Power (Bound) for Soul Binding on these and other eligible items.

The May update also introduced wing enhancement for additional stats. The notice does not provide a universal upgrade order, a full recipe or a promise that every existing item carries its improvements into a new one.

Where regional gear progression has come from

The December 2025 update added Hard Conquest to Krao Cave, Draupnir, Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island, with improved high-grade equipment and Draconic-material rewards. It also announced a guaranteed Gear Change Voucher for Conquest equipment exchanges.

Season 3’s Hall of Illusion announcement lists Hero- and Unique-grade equipment alongside Yustiel Daevanion materials. The May Sanctuary update names Lava Heart equipment and Kaldrix Brooch among Chalice of Muspel rewards. These are dated acquisition references, not a current best-in-slot ranking.

• Cost: all materials and currencies, including a source item consumed by a recipe.
• Outcome: the previewed effects and any displayed success, failure or protection rules.
• Replacement horizon: how soon you are likely to replace this exact item.
• Alternative: price and time for a replacement or a different weak slot.
