Server transfers and cross-server instances

What NC has announced

NC’s September 30 notice plans server transfers from October 14. Transfers are described as initially free and restricted to the same faction. Advanced Access characters will initially be limited to other Advanced Access servers.

This is an announced future service as of October 2. The notice does not establish an unlimited transfer entitlement, a permanent free price or permission to change faction or region.

Playing together before a transfer

The same announcement confirms that instanced content, including dungeons, is available across servers. That can help a group separated by home server, but does not prove every combination of region, faction or launch server pool can group together.

Compare the actual party and instance options in your clients. If you want to share everyday open-world play, agreeing on the same home server remains the clearest starting plan.

Before committing to a move

• Confirm the destination’s region, faction and exact server name.
• Check whether both origin and destination are in the permitted server pool.
• Read the final transfer notice for eligibility, cooldowns and items or social memberships that may need attention.
• Verify how server-scoped purchases will be handled; membership currently names the purchased server.
• Take note of your character and purchase details before submitting any transfer.

If your friends are on a busy server

Agree as a group whether to wait, use another recommended server or use cross-server instances while staying where you are. Do not select an incompatible faction on the assumption that a transfer will fix it.

Check the live server list at character creation. New-server announcements are useful evidence of added capacity, but they do not establish a permanent population ranking.
