A sequel set 200 years later

AION 2 takes place 200 years after the original game. Elyos and Asmodians begin in separate regions before becoming involved in the broader faction conflict. NC describes a world roughly 36 times the original’s scale, with air and water extending exploration beyond roads.

You can begin with the opening story without studying the original game first. Read the current quest dialogue when a familiar name appears: returning places and characters can have different roles in the sequel.

Why the world is divided

The faction stories describe the Tower’s fall during the Last War. The Balaur advance, and surviving Empyrean Lords raise protective Bulwarks. Elysea’s account centers on Siel’s disappearance; Asmodae’s tells of Israphel’s loss. Ishtar and Fafnir lead the new Dragon Lord threat.

Follow places into playable content

When a quest or party names a location, confirm whether it means an outdoor region or an instance. The global presentation identifies Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, Fire Temple and Draupnir as Expeditions, each with a separate guide in this wiki.

When sharing a discovery with friends, include your faction, region name, nearby landmark and elevation. A screenshot of the map together with the landscape is more useful than a place name alone.

Keep later regional chapters in context

The KR / TW service has its own update history. A location shown in a regional Chapter 1 guide is not automatically part of the global launch route. Follow the quests and map available in your client, and use the separately labeled regional article when researching that service.
